Tania Mashburn, from Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), appeared on Good Day Utah with the latest construction and traffic updates.

Salt Lake County:

A new section of the Mountain View Corridor opens on Saturday at 3 p.m. Seven miles of new roadway, bike lanes and trails from Porter Rockwell Boulevard at 16000 South to the Old Bingham Highway.

This new stretch of Mountain View will include UDOT's first radar-activated bike turn signal. The innovative new signal allows cyclists to safely make a left turn on Mountain View from Redwood Road. [READ MORE]

The 5600 West bridge over I-80 is scheduled to close from Friday night to Sunday night for concrete pavement maintenance and bridge work. All on- and off-ramps at 5600 West will remain open, but drivers will not be able to cross the bridge.

Utah County:

For BYU fans heading to Provo for the Oregon State game on Saturday, there is still construction on University Parkway in Orem. Use the Orem 800 North or Orem Center Street as alternatives. Kickoff is at 1:30 p.m.

All construction work depends on weather and other conditions. For the latest on UDOT closures and restrictions, visit www.udot.utah.gov, follow @UtahDOTon twitter, utahdot on Facebook or download one of the free UDOT apps for iPhone and Android.
