OGDEN, Utah - A former Ogden school teacher is accused of sending inappropriate pictures to a student.
Ogden Police say a school resource officer at Mound Fort Junior High School discovered the alleged inappropriate relationship between 26-year-old Liza-Ann Roberts and a 14-year-old student on Oct. 21. She was fired five days later.
According to police, Roberts was allegedly sexting with a student with two cell phones she'd purchased, one for herself and one for the student. Investigators say a search warrant found inappropriate text messages and semi-nude photos sent back and forth between Roberts and the student.
Roberts was booked into the Weber County Jail and charged with sexual exploitation of a minor and dealing harmful materials to a minor, both felonies. There is no evidence of abuse and this appears to be an isolated incident, but the investigation is ongoing.
Roberts has bailed out of jail. Her next court appearance is on Nov. 19.
