SALT LAKE CITY -- A big Thanksgiving dinner is a holiday tradition for the firefighters at Station 2 in Salt Lake City.
The eight-member crew that is working Thanksgiving this year all pitched in to make the special meal. Their families will also stop by to visit.
But they know things can change in an instant if a call comes in.
"This is a pretty busy station and we kinda call ourselves 'meals on wheels' where we are constantly eating meals when they are cold. You know we turn off the oven and we run out, we take a call, we come back. We eat when we can," said Captain Jeff Spencer, Salt Lake City Fire Department, Station 2. "It's one of the best parts of being here, is it's like having a second family. These guys are great."
The crew will be off starting Friday morning and a different group will be covering the Christmas holiday.
