LOGAN, Utah – The Utah State Aggies finished a record season with a 45-9 victory over Idaho in Logan on Saturday.
The 10-2 season sets a USU record for single-season wins. The Aggies also topped the Western Athletic Conference rankings with a first-ever 6-0 conference record.
Utah State is also nationally ranked with a tie for 25th (with Mississippi State, 8-3) in the nation in the Associated Press top 25, their first appearance in the AP rankings since 1961.
USU Director of Athletics Scott Barnes and head football coach Gary Andersen announced on Saturday that they have accepted an invitation to play in the 2012 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 15, at 2:30 p.m. in Bronco Stadium in Boise. The Aggies will face a selection from the Mid-American Conference.
The Aggies lost 24-23 to Ohio in the 2011 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.
