HIGHLAND, Utah — The Lone Peak High School Basketball team is the number one ranked team in the nation in this week’s Max Preps poll.
They are the first team from the state of Utah to be ranked number one in the country by Max Preps in basketball, baseball, or football.
The Knights moved up to the number one spot after Jabari Parker’s Simeon team lost last week.
Lone Peak is 7-0 this season, winning by an average of 30 points per game.
But the competition will be tough this week, when they play in the prestigious City of Palms Classic in Floriday.
Eight of the top 13 teams in the country will be there, including the teams ranked one through five.
The Knight will open up the tournament on Wednesday against the defending 5A state championships from Mississippi.
