SALT LAKE CITY — A 57-year-old man was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison Monday in the shooting death of a man at Riverside Park.
Francisco Alverez was convicted in December 2012 of first-degree felony murder in the death of 29-year-old Jorge Veracruz.
The murder happened in May 2011. Officers say the two men were drinking when they got into an argument. Alverez fired three shots and killed Veracruz.
