Police searching for man in pizza store robbery

Posted

SALT LAKE CITY — Police are looking for a man who robbed Wasatch Pizza in Salt Lake City at gunpoint Wednesday night.

Police said a Hispanic man entered the store on 800 East and 400 South, flashed a gun and demanded cash.

Three employees were the only people in the store at the time. The suspect left with cash after forcing the employees to the ground.

“No physical injuries, no physical contact, we brought a K-9 in, attempted to track, there was no track, so probably a car parked nearby,” said Lieutenant Brian Purvis, Salt Lake City Police.

The employees did not see which way the suspect went when he fled the store. Police said the suspect is in his 40s.
