RALEIGH, N.C. (via WGHP) — Assistant Jazz coach Sidney Lowe, 53, was arrested Monday on charges he has failed to pay income taxes.

The North Carolina Department of Revenue filed three misdemeanor counts of willful failure to file a North Carolina individual income tax return against Lowe – who owns a home in Wake Forest, N.C. – covering the years 2009 through 2011.

Lowe’s first court appearance is scheduled for March 19 in Wake County District Court in Raleigh.

A Utah Jazz spokesman declined to comment on Lowe’s arrest.

Lowe, former NC State basketball coach, had an 86-78 overall record with the school, but just 25-55 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. He resigned in 2011.
