HERRIMAN, Utah – The Herriman City Council voted against a proposed gun range after a public hearing on Thursday night.
The proposed gun range would have been on 15 acres, but it was within a mile and a half of homes and schools.
The city council says the vote is against the location rather than the range. They say they want more time to think of a larger gun range that will be a permanent fixture in the community.
“I really think with our vision, what we have in Herriman, we can go bigger and we can go better,” said Craig Tischner, a member of the Herriman City Council.
The council is now looking a new location.
