SYRACUSE, Utah -- Police launched an investigation after a woman was seen driving her Chevy Suburban onto a lawn at Syracuse Jr. High School as students were leaving for the day.
Josh Wabel, a student at the school, said he was walking toward his bus on Thursday afternoon when he saw the Suburban go over the curb and onto a lawn at the school, next to a doorway where students were walking.
"She pulled off over that sidewalk coming from the door [and] almost hit several students," Wabel said. "No one got hit. It was close, though."
A teacher confronted the driver, who told the teacher she was going to be late for the doctor.
Police said they're taking the incident very seriously, as students and employees at the school could have been injured. The driver has been located and police plan to question her Friday.
