Police seeking suspect in Sandy 7-Eleven robbery

SANDY, Utah — A convenience store in Sandy was robbed early Friday morning, and police hope surveillance video will help them identify the suspect.

Sandy police said a man entered the 7-Eleven at 9769 S 700 E around 1 a.m. and threatened the clerk by insinuating he had a weapon in his pocket.

Surveillance video shows the suspect going behind the counter and confronting the clerk, then taking money from the register. The suspect then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is Hispanic, about 5 feet and six inches tall with a goatee. He was wearing a blue baseball cap with a white stripe, a gray coat , a black shirt and blue jeans.
