Madonna asks Boy Scouts to ‘change their stupid rules’

Posted

NEW YORK CITY — Madonna became the most recent celebrity to take a stance on the Boy Scouts of America’s pending decision on admitting gay scouts.

Madonna presented the “Vito Russo” award to CNN anchor Anderson Cooper on Saturday at a ceremony sponsored by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, and she was wearing a replica Boy Scout uniform as she did it. Madonna wore the uniform in solidarity with GLAAD’s push to get the BSA to allow gay scouts.

At the award ceremony Madonna said the scouts should “Change their stupid rules.”

The Vito Russo award is given to openly gay media professionals who promote equality.
