SALT LAKE CITY -- A Salt Lake City restaurant was burglarized on Sunday, and Salt Lake City police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect pictured in a surveillance video.

Curry in a Hurry released the video of a suspect entering the restaurant, which is located at 2020 South State St. The incident occurred early Sunday morning.

The restaurant owner, Mona Nisar, said the thief broke in through the front door and checked the cash register, only to find it empty. She said the suspect then moved into the back and emptied out the cash box.

Nisar said the thief seemed to know what he was doing.

"It looked like he had confidence in what he was doing," she said. "Like he knew where to go, what to do and [how to get] out. I guess he had a lot of practice."

A business next door to the restaurant was also burglarized, and police said it may have been the same suspect, who is pictured in the photo gallery.

Anyone with information regarding the incident or the suspect is asked to contact Salt Lake City police at 801-799-INFO.
