UINTAH COUNTY, Utah – What was initially a controlled burn in Uintah County got out of control on Saturday, and the fire has now burned about 100 acres of land.
Jason Curry, State of Utah, said there were four controlled burns in the area. The one that went out of control has threatened some smaller structures, but there have been no evacuations. Officials are referring to the blaze as the Hayden Fire.
Curry said crews are mopping up the area, and they hope to have the fire contained some time on Saturday night.
Saturday was the first day of the open-burn season.
