MOAB, Utah – A 92-year-old man is dead after a crash in Moab on Monday morning.

Utah Highway Patrol says 92-year-old Bernard Broughton, from Moab, was driving northbound on SR-191 at 1075 South Main Street in Moab at around 11 a.m. when his pickup truck drifted to the right shoulder and hit a parked empty flatbed trailer.

The pickup began to roll and sideswiped the parked Ford truck that was attached to that trailer, then rolled onto its side and stopped next to another truck and trailer parked on the shoulder.

Broughton was not wearing his seat belt and was partially ejected. He was declared dead at the scene.

Neither of the parked vehicles with trailers was occupied at the time of the crash.

Police are investigating a possible medical condition and whether the Broughton was talking on the phone at the time of the crash.
