PARLEY'S CANYON, Utah -- A man was killed in a collision involving a semi truck and a truck pulling a U-Haul trailer that happened on I-80 in Parley’s Canyon Sunday afternoon has been identified.

Police said the accident happened near mile post 135 in the westbound lane around 11:30 a.m. The man in the truck was killed. There were two people in the semi-truck, and they were not injured.

Sgt. Blaine Robbins, Utah Highway Patrol, said they believe speed was a factor in the accident.

"We have a lot of problems with speed up the canyon," he said. "Coming down out of this canyon, people just travel too fast. They need to be aware of these slow-moving semi trucks. They're [semi truck drivers] trying to be safe. They're trying to not lose their brakes by coming down the canyon slow, taking their time, and people just need to slow down and be careful coming out of this canyon."

The man was identified as Winston Craig, 29, of West Valley City.
