Harmons Grocery Stores raised $225,000 for Special Olympics Utah.

The donation helps fund Special Olympics programs. They presented the check today at Whittier Elementary in West Valley City. Special Olympics Utah started a new program called “Young Athletes.” The program provides fun activities for children with physical or intellectual disabilities to interact and play in their age group.

“We also integrate the general student population so we can break down stereotypes of people with intellectual disabilities, and also provide a great role model for them, ” said Special Olympics Utah CEO Amy Hansen.

Bob and Randy Harmon presented the check to Hansen today. Harmons does a fundraiser for SOUT every year.
