DRAPER, Utah – Construction on the Living Planet Aquarium’s new building is moving along, and concrete tilt walls will be erected this week.

The building will be 136,000 square feet and will cost about $24 million. Features at the new aquarium will include a shark tank, a penguin exhibit and a special theater for aquarium guests.

Angie Hyde, director of marketing and public relations for the Living Planet Aquarium, said the new theater will feature some state-of-the art technology.

“We’re going to have a 4-D theater,” she said. “A 4-D theater is essentially a 3-D movie that has special added sensory effects, like mist and smells and different things and how they all come together to complete the experience.”

Work on the project is on track for a December opening. For more information about the aquarium, visit their website.
