SPANISH FORK, Utah — A semi-trailer rolled on its side Friday morning, spilling several tons of crab on Interstate 15.
The crash happened at 5:36 at the southbound off ramp in Spanish Fork.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, the driver of the semi-trailer did not negotiate a right turn correctly and over-corrected, causing the vehicle to roll on its left side.
The semi-trailer was carrying 75,000 pounds of frozen crab worth $176,000. The majority of the trailer’s contents were spilled on the freeway, troopers said.
The driver, 40-year-old Anil Rao, and the passenger, 48-year-old Iftekher Ahmed, were both transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
