Community holds musical fundraiser for injured woman

SALT LAKE CITY -- Friends and family of a young Utah mother who is slowly recovering after she was hit by a car last year came together Saturday to hold a musical fundraiser for the injured woman.

Jennifer Strong was hit by a car in Parley’s Canyon in August of last year. She recently spoke to Fox 13 about her story.

Strong’s friend Marie Harris teaches piano to several students in the area, and she joined up with the community and organized a recital to help Jennifer and her family. The recital was called “Music Connecting People.”

Attendee Christine Rolfson said the funds are needed after Strong’s accident.

"The fundraiser is to help with her care and modifications they will need in her home for her to come home as she recovers from traumatic a brain injury,” Rolfson said.

Harris hosts a recital each year, but this year she wanted to make it special by supporting Strong.
