ROY, Utah — A man was sentenced to jail after he was found guilty of killing a passenger in his car when he lost control while driving more than 100 mph.
Shawn Brady was sentenced to one year in jail following his conviction on a negligent homicide charge.
Brady was driving between 95 and 110 mph on Midland Drive in Roy when he lost control of the car and crashed. Nicole Gear, 23, was killed in the accident, which happened on June 24, 2011.
Police said Brady was under the influence of drugs when the incident occurred.
