DRAPER, Utah – A man and woman are in serious condition Monday after an accident involving a motorcycle and a car.

Police said the couple was riding on a motorcycle, which collided with a car near 14600 S. 610 E. The man and woman, both in their 60s, were taken to a hospital by ambulance. Paramedics said the man and woman were wearing safety helmets, which probably saved their lives.

Draper police said the cause of the crash is still under investigation.

This is one of several serious car accidents to occur during Memorial Day weekend. Utah Highway Patrol officials refer to the time between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day as the “100 Deadliest Days’ because of the number of severe wrecks.
