4 teens injured after crashing stolen vehicle

ALPINE, Utah – Four juveniles were taken to a hospital after crashing a stolen vehicle in Alpine early Saturday morning.

According to a press release from the Lone Peak Police Department, an officer saw a car run a stop sign on Main Street while driving at a high rate of speed Saturday around 4 a.m. Officers pursued the vehicle as it turned onto a dead-end road.

Officers found the vehicle where it had crashed after the driver was unable to negotiate a turn. There were four juveniles inside. The driver was transported to the hospital as a precaution. Three were taken to a hospital in serious condition. Two of those were upgraded to stable condition and released. The other remains in a hospital in serious condition.

Police discovered the vehicle had been stolen earlier in the night. They found other stolen property in the car, as well as alcohol and drugs.

The driver was booked into juvenile detention on multiple charges. Charges will be forwarded to the juvenile prosecutor regarding the other three juveniles, according to the press release.
