Posted

LAKE POWELL — The body of a woman who was aboard a motor boat when it collided with a houseboat on Lake Powell Thursday has been recovered.

Jessica Jackman was one of the seven adults on the boat at the time of the crash.

The boat overturned, killing 59-year-old Marilyn Jackman – Jessica’s mother.

Jessica and 29-year-old Valerie Rae Bradshaw were reported missing at the time of the crash.

Bradshaw’s body was recovered Sunday by the Lake Powell dive team.

Bad weather and high winds hampered the search effort for Jackman on Monday, and the Kane County Sheriff’s Office contacted the Summit County Sheriff’s Office dive team for assistance.

The SCSO dive team arrived early Tuesday morning. Through a joint effort by the Utah Highway Patrol dive team, Summit County Search and Rescue and the Lake Powell dive team, Jackman’s body was found in about 406 feet of water around 11:40 a.m.

Jackman’s body will be transferred to the Kane County Medical Examiner, who will continue the investigation.
