CLEARFIELD, Utah - A 13-year-old girl was hospitalized Thursday afternoon after police say she was accidentally shot by her brother.
Police were called to a house near 221 North and 360 West in Clearfield at around 5:15 p.m. Thursday on reports that a 13-year-old girl had been shot.
Officers say the girl's 15-year-old brother had a .22-caliber handgun that accidentally went off. The bullet went into the back of the girl's shoulder and exited through her arm.
She was talking with officers as she was loaded into a medical helicopter and is now hospitalized in stable condition.
Police say they're still investigating the incident. No arrests have been made.
