DAVIS COUNTY, Utah — The National Weather Service issued a flood advisory for parts of Davis County as heavy rains fell Saturday.
The urban and small stream flood advisory was issued at 7:13 p.m. Saturday and is expected to remain in effect until 8:30 p.m.
According to the advisory, most of the heavier rainfall moved east of Davis County as of 7:11 p.m., but minor flooding has been reported on roadways in the county from Bountiful north to Layton. The advisory urged motorists to use caution.
According to the advisory, most flood deaths occur in automobiles, and people should not drive into areas where water covers the roadway, as floodwaters are usually deeper than they appear.
