LOGAN -- A Cache County couple reported missing Wednesday night were found safe Thursday morning, according to Cache County Sheriff's dispatch.
Lt. Brian Locke with the Cache County Sheriff's Office said the couple, identified as Chad and Lynn Hansen of Smithfield, were reported missing by their 16-year-old son shortly before 11 p.m. Wednesday.
Officers said the Hansens were hiking a seven mile trail from Tony Grove in Logan Canyon to Smithfield Canyon with their three dogs. They said the couple are inexperienced hikers.
Cache County Sheriff's dispatch said the couple made contact with family members via cell phone Thursday morning from the Tony Grove trail.
