TAYLORSVILLE, Utah -- Three people were arrested in connection with a stabbing in Taylorsville that put a man in the hospital Saturday morning.

The incident took place at 5:31 a.m. outside the 39-year-old victim's house, 4384 South Jarrah St. Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said the victim had been hosting a party where the suspects were reportedly present.

When the four suspects were leaving, the victim confronted them outside the house for an unknown reason, police said. At that point a physical fight ensued. Hoyal said they are still working to determine exactly what happened.

"Right now, we're still in the process of interviewing everybody that's involved," he said.

The victim was stabbed during the fight. He was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Two of the four suspects were also transported with minor injuries.

"Once the homeowner came out and confronted these four males, a physical altercation took place, at which point in time the homeowner was stabbed, and these two other males were stuck with an unknown object," Hoyal said.

Police identified a 17-year-old male as the one who reportedly stabbed the victim. He was booked into Salt Lake Valley Detention for aggravated assault, assault, rioting and consumption of alcohol by a minor.

Another 17-year-old male was booked into the detention center for reportedly tampering with evidence.

Dillon Sanchez, 18, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for rioting and consumption of alcohol by a minor.

The fourth suspect was interviewed and found not to be involved at this time, police said.

Neighbor Suzette Daniels said there have been issues with underage drinking and partying at the home in the previous weeks.

"There`s always been something going on over there: So it didn't really surprise me," she said.
