DUI crackdown at Utah Lake Marina

Posted

UTAH LAKE, Utah – Multiple law enforcement agencies held a DUI checkpoint just outside of Utah Lake Marina this weekend, and their goal was preventing people from drinking on the lake and then getting behind the wheel.

It was called Operation June Sucker, and it was a joint effort by State Parks, the Division of Wildlife Resources, the Utah County Sheriff’s Office, the Utah Highway Patrol and the Provo Police Department.

The agencies started stopping cars at the checkpoint around 5:30 Saturday. Officers made five arrests, three of which were for DUI.

The agencies also rewarded people with designated drivers by giving them T-shirts.
