OREM — Orem police said a man who was in jail for an alleged child sex offense bailed out Thursday, only to be arrested again for a similar offense four days later.
Nicholas Simmonds, 18, was booked into the Utah County Jail for three second-degree felony counts of sex abuse of a child after police received a report of the alleged abuse in May.
The alleged victim was a 6-year-old girl from his neighborhood.
Simmonds bailed out of jail on July 24 and returned home.
On Monday, police were called again to a home in Simmonds’ neighborhood, where they said a different 6-year-old girl had been victimized.
Simmonds was arrested again and charged with lewdness involving a child, a Class A misdemeanor.
