WEST VALLEY CITY — Five people have been arrested in connection with a homicide that occurred Saturday in West Valley City.
Jose Carlos Salazar, 19, Juan Eduardo Cruz, 19, Armando Jose Majano, 19, Diego Monfeda, 20, and Alejandro Argumeda, 21, all face felony charges related to the shooting death of 18-year-old Anthony Hernandez.
Police responded to the area of 3100 S 4300 W late that night after receiving a report of shots fired. They found Hernandez with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Officers quickly gathered information from witnesses to help them identify the suspects in the homicide. Detectives confirmed that the shooting was related to a long-standing gang rivalry.
A sixth suspect, 27-year-old Ricardo Padilla, is still at large. Police said Padilla could be driving a white Jeep Cherokee Laredo with the license plate: 921 UGE.
