ST. GEORGE, Utah —  Authorities have officially ruled that an incident that left a married couple dead in St. George Monday was a murder-suicide, and they said they believe the husband was the one who pulled the trigger.

Police found the bodies of Paul Day, 60, and Mary Ann Day, 47, Monday in the area near 2000 East 200 South.

Police initially only said that a firearm was involved in the death of both victims, but Wednesday they sent out a press release that said in part:

“Based on the facts and evidence that have been gathered so far, it appears to have been a murder suicide with Mary being the victim. The case is still under investigation.”
