Theft attempt stopped by weight of thousands of shotgun shells

DUCHESNE COUNTY, Utah – Police said a man who tried to steal 60 cases of shotgun shells was caught after the weight of the shells kept his car from moving.

Duchesne County investigators said they were called to the Pleasant Valley Hunting Preserve to investigate the theft of thousands of shotgun cells.

Police officials said Tyler Hardman’s car was so loaded with shells it was on the ground. Police said Hardman admitted to carrying out the theft, and they said he told them he was trying to make some quick money.

Hardman was charged with theft, and the shells were returned to their owner.
