You know that “Epic Welcome Speech” at Georgia Tech that went viral online earlier this week? Well, turns out it’s a rip-off. According to Gawker, the Georgia Tech Convocation speech was “lifted almost wholesale” from a speech given by a member of the Arizona State University debate team back in 2008. Fast-forward to 8:40 in the video above to see the Andy Stone’s original speech.
According to Gawker, the Georgia Tech speaker had asked for permission from Stone before giving his welcome speech.
