Fire captain on paid leave after suspected DUI incident

WEBER COUNTY, Utah —  A Weber Fire District captain is on paid leave after he was booked into jail on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Ogden Police Department officials said they responded to an accident last month that involved 45-year-old Joseph Gannon.

Formal charges against Gannon have not been filed, and fire authorities said they are waiting on the results of a police investigation to determine whether or not Gannon will stay employed.

Gannon pleaded guilty to a DUI charge in 1995.
