SOUTH SALT LAKE CITY -- A man who was stabbed in his South Salt Lake apartment Wednesday died from his injuries, police said.
Officers said the stabbing happened around 9 p.m. in an apartment complex in South Salt Lake near 415 East and 3400 South.
Police said they were responding to a domestic dispute when they learned that a 48-year-old man had been stabbed.
According to police, a witness reported that he heard a knock on the door of his apartment. The witness said his roommate answered the door, and upon opening the door he was stabbed in the abdomen by the suspect. After the stabbing, the suspect went back to his apartment next door to the victim.
The victim was taken to an area hospital in extremely critical condition, and later died from his injuries.
Officers said they were able to contain the suspect, identified as Ansumana Jadama, inside his apartment. Jadama was arrested without incident, and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on charges of homicide and aggravated burglary.
Officers said the motive for the attack is unknown at this time.
