SAN JOSE, Calif. – The Aggies are making themselves at home in the Mountain West Conference.
They reached 2-0 in their new conference (3-2 overall) with a 40-12 win at San Jose State on Friday night.
Utah State got another good, if not dazzling, performance from Chuckie Keeton–who passed for 260 yards and three touchdowns. He also scored on a 9-yard run with 15 seconds left in the third quarter.
Joey DeMartino added 120 yards on 17 carries, and the Aggies defense forced four turnovers (3 interceptions/1 fumble) and held the Spartans to just 101 yards on the ground.
Utah State plays one more non-conference game this season. Next Friday night they host in-state rival BYU in Logan.
After missing a crucial field goal attempt in their previous game at USC, Nick Diaz redeemed himself by connecting on all four field goal attempts at San Jose State.
