Work out supplements are popular amongst athletes, but one dietary supplement is coming under fire.
According to CNN, Craze, which is a product marketed to bodybuilders, contains a chemical similar to methamphetamine.
The study was published in the peer-reviewed Drug Testing and Analysis journal.
The chemical of concern has never been studied in humans. Scientists studied three Craze samples and found the drug, N, a-DEPEA, in all three. Each contained about 20 to 35 milligrams, which experts say was not a minor contaminant.
Craze was given BodyBuilding.com’s New Supplement of the Year award in 2012.
