IRON COUNTY, Utah — An accident on I-15 in southern Utah left one person dead and two others injured Sunday.
The Utah Highway Patrol said a pickup truck hauling two trailers was traveling northbound on I-15 near mile post 49 when the driver, identified as Mark Oliver, 53, felt the trailers start to swerve.
Officers said when Oliver applied the brakes, he lost control of the vehicle and it rolled off the right side of the road. The three occupants in the truck were pinned and had to be extricated.
Mark Oliver was airlifted to a Las Vegas hospital in critical condition, Emma Oliver, 12, was transported by ground to an area hospital, and Sara Oliver, 50, was pronounced dead at the scene.
