DRAPER -- The 4A and 5A high School girls soccer semifinals were played Tuesday at Juan Diego High School. Viewmont High beat Lone Peak, 1-0, in the 5A semifinal and will advance to the championship game Friday at the Rio Tinto Stadium.

Brighton beat Fremont in the 5A semifinal with a score of 5-0. Brighton will face Viewmont in the championship.

Timpanogos High beat Mountain View, 2-0, in the 4A semifinal. Timpanogos will advance to the championship Friday.

The success means a lot to Timpanogos player Devri Hartle, junior, who’s had the support of her teammates since her 5-year-old brother, Owen, was diagnosed with cancer in May. At each game the girls write her brother’s name on their legs with the cancer symbol above it.

Hartle said her brother will be at the championship game to cheer the team on.
