TOOELE COUNTY, Utah – A semitrailer caught fire on I-80 Saturday afternoon; both eastbound lanes were closed for about an hour, and one lane remains closed.
According to information from the Utah Department of Public Safety, the closure affects the area near mile post 69 on I-80 in Tooele County.
Officials said one lane reopened about an hour after the accident, but the other lane remains closed due to fire damage to the road.
Utah Highway Patrol officials said they received a call about the truck at about 1:15 p.m. The truck was carrying produce, and the cause of the fire is unknown. The driver was able to safely exit the vehicle and call for help. There were no injuries reported.
