Natural gas leak leads to evacuations in Ogden

OGDEN, Utah – Around 30 people were evacuated from about a dozen homes due to a natural gas leak Sunday afternoon, and they were able to return to their homes several hours later.

As of just before 5 p.m., residents impacted had been allowed to return to their homes.

According to information from the Ogden City Fire Department, a vehicle backed into a meter on the side of a home at 835 Binford St. earlier Sunday.

Around 4 p.m. officials said Questar personnel, assisted by firefighters, had stabilized the line and were checking homes individually before clearing residents to return.
