A vehicle accident slowed traffic on I-215 Monday morning.
Officers said around 5:45 a.m., a 49-year-old woman was driving a Chevy Tahoe northbound on I-215 when she tried to make a lane change to I-80 eastbound and lost control.
The vehicle crashed through a concrete barrier and a fence and then slid down an embankment near some railroad tracks.
The woman was transported via ambulance to the University of Utah Hospital with minor injuries.
Police said excessive speed and improper tire tread are being investigated as factors of the crash.
