Man stabbed near homeless shelter in SLC

SALT LAKE CITY — A 35-year-old man was seriously injured when he was stabbed near The Road Home’s Salt Lake Community Shelter Tuesday morning.

It happened around 10:20 at 245 S 500 W. An off-duty officer from another jurisdiction witnessed two men fighting and notified Salt Lake police, according to Det. Dennis McGowan, SLCPD.

The suspect fled the scene on foot and was last seen headed south on 500 W.

The suspect was described as Hispanic male in his twenties, between 6 feet and 6 feet 3 inches tall, with a thin build. He was wearing jeans and a white shirt or white jacket.
