Man rescued out of Bell Canyon

BELL CANYON — A 20-year-old man was air lifted out of Bell Canyon after falling 30 feet.

The man was reportedly climbing a small waterfall when the accident occurred. The victim appeared to have a broken arm and other minor injuries.

He was transported to an area hospital in serious condition.

Crews are also treated a bystander who jumped into the water to rescue the victim.

The rescuer is suffering from minor hypothermia but the injuries are not life-threatening, officials said.

Salt Lake County Search and Rescue along with Sandy Fire responded to the fall.
