SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Police are on the lookout for two men who robbed a Salt Lake City business at gunpoint Friday morning.
Police said two men entered the Midtown Wholesale Convenience Store near 1400 South State St. just before 9:30 a.m.
The men ordered the employees to get on the floor and displayed a handgun. The men grabbed several items and fired one shot before leaving. There were no injuries reported.
Sgt. Steve Wooldridge of the Salt Lake City Police Department said such robberies aren’t common, but he said holiday shoppers should use caution.
“Holiday shoppers should always not have recent purchases visible inside their vehicles when they’re going shopping,” he said. “Leaving stuff in their vehicles is always a bad idea, as people just walk by, see it, and it’s a crime of opportunity.”
Police are searching for two Hispanic males in connection with the crime. Both men were wearing masks and ski hats during the robbery. Police said they may have fled in a green vehicle. Anyone with information about the incident or the suspects is encouraged to contact Salt Lake City police.
