SALT LAKE CITY — A man was found shot three times early Saturday morning in Salt Lake City, police said.
At approximately 2 a.m. officers arrived on scene at 340 E. 400 South where a vehicle had several bullet holes on its right side, said Salt Lake Police Lt. Scott White.
Police said the victim is a known gang member. The shooting appears to be gang related and targeted.
Police are not releasing the name of the man at this time.
White said the man was very uncooperative about what happened and was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
Two women were in the car with the victim when police arrived. Their statements provided conflicting information when detained and questioned about the incident.
“We don’t know anything about where it took place,” White said.
One of the women, Celina Garcia, was charged with felony 3 obstruction of justice.
The case has been passed over to the gang unit.
