SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah – Park City Mountain Resort opened up to skiers and snowboarders Saturday, and the season opened with a bang as the festivities kicked-off the resort’s 50th year in business.
Some of those who attended the event received T-shirts and other prizes, as the resort hosted giveaways to mark the mountain’s milestone.
Andy Miller is the communication manager for Park City Mountain Resort, and he said it was a great day to start the season.
“So we started the day with a great line at all three of our lifts that started turning, really enthusiastic crowd,” he said. “It’s always a party in the lift lines to start the day on opening day, and it’s the same this year. Lots of old familiar faces getting reacquainted, and everybody was excited to get out and start getting those first turns.”
Park City’s actual anniversary will be on Dec. 21.
