‘Giving Tuesday’ follows Black Friday, Cyber Monday

Posted

SALT LAKE CITY -- You survived black Friday, surfed all the deals on Cyber Monday, and just when you thought it was over there's another day meant to kick-start the season of giving – “Giving Tuesday.”

It’s a single day set aside this holiday season to urge people to give back.

“This is the second annual #givingtuesday it started last year and unfortunately we weren't a part of it last year,” said Jill-Ann Pearl, Direcotr of Development at the Huntsman Cancer Foundation. “So this year we decided to jump on board. It's a nationwide event.”

Nonprofit organizations pushed the idea out on social media, with the #Giving Tuesday.

And all day long donations rolled-in to the website #givingtuesday.org, which connected people to local charities.
