SANDY, Utah –Students at Jordan High School helped folks take a step back in time at a fundraiser featuring actors in an interactive performance.

The event was designed to immerse people in the culture displayed in the play “Fiddler on the Roof,” and cast members stayed in character throughout—even acting surprised when people brought out modern conveniences like cell phones.

Cast member Hallee Johnson said it was a challenge to stay in character without a script.

“I'm nervous, very nervous,” she said. “But I'm really excited too, because I don't know, I'm just a theater nerd.”

The cast was raising money for their performance of Fiddler on the Roof, which will be playing at Jordan High School starting next weekend. Visit the school's calendar events for dates and showtimes.
